We aim to archive and share Saskatchewan’s fiddle history via the digitization of video and audio records from fiddle contests and performances across Saskatchewan. This work is completed for those who wish to see the rich fiddle and fiddle contest history in Saskatchewan persevered.
MusicH2 has a catalogue of well over 500 VHS tapes of fiddle contests throughout Saskatchewan and western Canada between 1989 to 2006. We have begun to digitize this video collection with financial support from Saskatchewan Lotteries and SaskCulture via the Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists (SCAA).
